In Kyoto Station

通帳
つうちょう
Passbook (on an ATM)

I've never heard of anyone using a passbook at an ATM, it's probably for old people or something.

I use my bankbook, it's really convenient. It's a lot easier than balancing your checkbook by hand (not that I ever actually did that in America)

I need to set up online access to my bank account, but until the 通帳 is handy, especially because I have so many automatic withdrawals set up.

I suppose I'm an Internet banking person. For me an ATM is just the place to take out money.
