In Kyoto Station 2

お弁当、 サンド、 お飲物
おべんとう、 サンド、 おのみもの
Bento (Japanese lunch box), sandwiches, drinks

On a Shinkansen platform. I assure you I wasn't drunk when I took this. Sandwiches is shortened to 'サンド' in Japanese, I suspect 'w' and 'ch' sounds are quite hard for Japanese speakers.

It's best when you see サンド in pseudo-romaji.

I wish I had taken a picture of the "Fresh Sand" I saw sold somewhere. Sounds delicious.

サンド is the shortened form of サンドイッチ. The w and ch sounds in this word are not particularly hard for Japanese speakers, they just like to abbreviate.

And my favourite eating experience in all the time I have been here was the time I ordered a Red Hot Sand from KFC.
